About Kohryu...
[The name rolls off his tongue with a startling familiarity, one he's never mentioned to Souji yet - simply because at the time he was so preoccupied, it didn't occur to him.]
[Yeah he only barely understands it so this is going to be interesting to explain. When he does, there's a quality to his words that make it clear he's abridging an explanation that someone else gave him.]
Kohryu is born into the world every two thousand years. In some rare instances, there's two vessels born at the same time. The Yin vessel, and the Yang vessel.
[Tatsuma stops shoveling as well, actually leaning lightly on the shovel as he considers his words.]
...The city. I think... It was probably all of Tokyo.
[Not... That he's been there in person himself. But with all of the memories he's regained so far, he can't think of any other place that fits the bill. They were all definitely in Japan, that's for certain, and the sprawling city couldn't exactly be easily missed.]
In my other memories... We were always fighting to try to protect people. But I remember looking out over a ledge, and the whole city was wrecked.
I think so. One of my friends was arguing... Not all of the four gods had been awakened yet, so Kohryu shouldn't have, either.
But if the requirements were different, the Yin vessel might've awakened before I did, and...
[Destroyed Tokyo, apparently. He's still not sure what to make of it, knowing that the Tokyo in this world is fine, and yet-- in some other world, was that still the case? Or did that world even exist any longer to begin with?
There's too many questions and not enough answers, either from Retrospec or his own memories.

"Chi You" and "Dragon Stream..." It all had something to do with that. Especially the Dragon Stream.

Is it weird to say... Whatever happened there, I know we fought as hard as we could...?
[There's a part of him that feels sorrow, certainly, that so many deaths couldn't be prevented. But there isn't any lingering guilt, either.
He remembers that much, remembers how hard he and his friends fought each time those monsters appeared. If they hadn't been able to save everyone... Even if it was regrettable, he understands that there wasn't always a choice.]

No, it's not weird at all. You did all that you could and that's no small feat. You should be proud of that.

...We weren't powerless. Even though we couldn't save everyone, we did save some people.
[There had been those who escaped, somehow. Although it's hard to judge how successful they were when... something hit all of Tokyo, but...]
We were ready to fight again, too. That's why we were talking that night, I think. Even though everything was destroyed, we didn't give up.
